MUSLIM youngsters attended special celebrations at the Hanfia Institute mosque in Lockwood.

Around 400 young people attended the event to mark the Islamic festival of Eid-Milad, which marks the birthday of the prophet Mohammed.

They took part in a variety of activities and enjoyed food.

They also looked at models of holy mosques at Mecca and Medina.

Pictured holding the models are Abeer Shazad (front centre) and Junaid Tanweer (front left).

The Hanfia Institute - also known as the South Kirklees Muslim Faith Centre - is part of the Interfaith Kirklees Faith Centres Project, which aims to develop an understanding between faiths and cultures in Kirklees.
