Crowds have packed St George's Square to see the street performers, Disney magic and festive treats Festival of Light has brought to town.

Families are wrapped up warm for some Disney magic as performers led a spirited singalong to smash-hit musical Frozen, with young and old belting out the film's catchy tunes, including Do You Want To Build A Snowman, Love Is An Open Door and Let It Go.

The rain held off as the festivities kicked off with the Spark! drummers, who paraded into the square to their own energetic rhythms before taking to the stage for a spectacular percussion and light show.

The group, donned in futuristic metallic outfits, soon had toes tapping with their catchy beats.

Their performance was followed by a series of short animated films made by Kirklees schools.

But the biggest draw was the Frozen sing-along, transporting the audience into the wintery world of Anna, Elsa and Olaf.

The words to the musical were displayed on the big screen, with professional performers helping the crowd to join in.

Youngsters screamed as their Disney heroes appeared on stage and were mesmerised by the film on the big screen, with the crowd stretching right back to the train station.

Seasonal refreshments are keeping revellers warm in the festive food and drink market, with mulled wine and hot chocolate on the menu as well as burgers, Chinese food and hot fresh donuts.

The entertainment wasn't limited to St George's Square, with an alternative market in St Peter's Gardens.

The Huddersfield Hat Fringe Festival, running across 23 venues across the town centre, features pop-up shops, live music from local acts and poetry. The three-day event began on Friday and concludes on Sunday evening with a variety of bands performing at town centre venues.

The chilly weather has not affect the festive atmosphere - the cold doesn't bother us anyway!
