ORGANISERS pleading for council cash to stage Huddersfield's Timeless Music Festival will have to wait up to three months for a decision.
The annual event, in Ravensknowle Park, had to be cancelled this year because of a lack of funding.
There had been high hopes of a £15,000 boost from Kirklees Council for next year's festival, but councillors on the Huddersfield South area committee decided against giving money from their budget.
Instead, the all-party committee said it was up to the council's Cabinet to give support.
A decision by the Cabinet is due next February or March.
The free festival started in 2002 as a way of showcasing local acts.
Pat Fulgoni, of the Timeless Music Project, a voluntary organisation, said: "Any financial assistance from the council towards next year's event would certainly be appreciated."
Total running costs are estimated at £40,000, including technical equipment, marketing costs, plus licensing and insurance costs.
