STREET stalls will take over Honley to kick-start festivities.

The village centre will be closed off on Saturday, December 5, for the 6th annual street market.

Organisers say many of the village shops will have stalls, as well as charities and food producers.

There will be everything from mulled wine to roasted chestnuts and handmade Christmas cards to cakes and flowers.

The event, organised by St Mary’s Church, will run from 10am until 4pm along Church Street.

Entertainment will be provided by the Grange Moor Brass Band in the Village Hall.
