A NEW support group could be formed in Huddersfield for sufferers of a condition which affects up to 2.5 million people in the UK.

Up to 4% of the population could have fibromyalgia – and many of them have never been diagnosed.

Symptoms of the condition include:

Muscle pain and stiffness

Fatigue

Specific tender points

Disturbed sleep

Poor concentration

Irritable bowel syndrome.

A meeting is being held to discuss the possibility of setting up a support group for people with fibromyalgia, their carers and families.

The event takes place at the demonstration zone in Queensgate Market next Friday at 12.30pm.

The venue will be open from 11am to 2pm for anyone to drop in.
