PEOPLE still have time to fill shoeboxes with presents in Operation Christmas Child.

Last year, 6m boxes from all over the UK were sent to children aged between two and 14 in Eastern Europe and Russia by evangelical Christian charity Samaritan's Purse.

People can contribute by covering a shoebox with wrapping paper, then filling it with toys, sweets, pens, paper, gloves and toiletries.

In Meltham, the filled boxes can be taken to the Crossroads Shop in Market Place or St James's Church, Meltham Mills, up to 8pm tonight and between between 10am and 8pm tomorrow.

Anyone who cannot drop off boxes should ring Judith Powell on 01484 859460.
