A FIRE at a huge Huddersfield chemical plant was confined to machinery early today.
No chemicals were involved in the incident at Syngenta on Leeds Road, Deighton, at 8.15am.
It was tackled by firefighters from the works backed up by fire crews from Huddersfield and Brighouse.
It is thought to have been caused by a pump in a building used to make insecticides. The process has been closed down and the Health And Safety Executive has been informed.
