Fire crew breaks into man’s room at Primrose Hill care home

FIREFIGHTERS were called to a Primrose Hill residential care home in the early hours of yesterday after an elderly man became trapped in his room.

A Huddersfield fire crew received a call at 3am from Ashleigh Care Home, Stile Common Road after staff were unable to gain access to the man’s room after he had rung his alarm. Attempts to communicate with the man, believed to be in his late 80’s, by care home staff and the fire crew were unsuccessful, so the officers removed the lock. The man was uninjured.
