FIRE crews worked through the night to make sure gas cylinders at a Greetland barn were safe.

Crews from Huddersfield, Dewsbury and Brighouse were at the barn after a huge fire on Wednesday. They remained at the scene throughout much of yesterday to check on three oxyacetylene cylinders at Far Turbury Farm, Clegg Lane, Upper Greetland. A 300-gallon tank of diesel also needed cooling down to prevent an explosion. At the height of the fire 40 firefighters tackled the flames.
