FIREFIGHTERS tackled a blaze at a Huddersfield tyre company.

The Huddersfield crews were alerted to a blaze at Tyreseal, Longroyd Bridge, at 7.25pm on Friday.

They spent two hours at the scene.

Red Watch Commander Darren Bagley said: “The cause of the fire is still under investigation.

“The damage was confined to one corner of the building and nobody was injured.

“There were some drums for mixing the chemicals which repair tyres inside the building and they were badly damaged.”

The crews headed to the scene after workers from the nearby industrial estate noticed flames coming from the building.

Ten firefighters used four breathing apparatus, two hose reels and a positive pressure ventilation fan to deal with the incident.
