A COMPANY is continuing to trade despite a devastating fire at its premises.
Tyke Rollers, which makes rubber rollers for printing presses and conveyor systems, said it was managing to get some products to customers in the wake of the blaze earlier this month which ripped through its premises at Colliers Way, Clayton West.
A spokeswoman for the firm said: “Thanks to our business partners and associates we are managing to get some products through and we are still delivering products to customers.”
She said the main phone number had been diverted to a mobile phone to allow the firm to continue taking calls. Administration and support staff were working temporarily from the home of managing director Carl Slingsby.
“Despite the fire, the company is continuing to operate,” the spokeswoman added.
“The company intends to get back to normal as soon as possible.”
Some 30 firefighters had to contend with exploding propane cylinders when they battled the inferno, which broke out on Thursday May 15.
The industrial unit measures 330ft by 100ft and has been badly damaged by the intense fire and smoke.
