A WOMAN had to be cut free from her car after a crash at Ainley Top. A lorry and a car collided on Lindley Moor Road at the junction with Weatherhill Road just before the rounda- bout at 7.45pm last night. The impact sent the car, a VW Polo, spinning on to the other side of the road where it was in a head-on crash with a Vauxhall Corsa. Huddersfield firefighters had to cut the roof off the Polo to free the driver, a 40-year-old nurse. She had been knocked unconscious for a few moments and had suffered back and leg injuries. She was taken to Huddersfield Royal Infirmary for treatment. The Corsa driver and her two passengers, aged 19 and 21, suffered whiplash, shock and bruising. The lorry driver, a Pontefract man, was unhurt.
