BANNING fireworks will only make Britain a more dangerous place, it is claimed.
Eleven MPs say fireworks should no longer be on sale to the public.
But fireworks chiefs say if this happens it will it be very difficult to regulate the sale of fireworks and more dangerous ones are likely to be sold illegally.
Huddersfield- based Black Cat Fireworks Ltd also sell Standard Fireworks and supply to many of the UK's biggest retail names.
The company works closely with trading standards officers, emergency services and retailers to make sure more than 10m people enjoy fireworks safely and legally across the country every year.
Managing director Andrew Fowlds said: "Banning firework sales to the public will not solve the problem of anti-social behaviour caused by yobs misusing the products and criminals making money out of dangerous illegal imports sold from the back of white vans.
"All it will do is drive the industry underground."
