A CHILDREN'S garment with a hood-cord banned since 1976 has been found on sale in a Bradford shop.

Now a warning over the product has been issued by West Yorkshire Trading Standards officials.

The child's hooded top had a free-running cord going through a channel on the edge of the hood. Such cords are banned in garments under 44cm across the chest, because of safety fears.

The London company which imported the product from Pakistan was fined £2,500 with £664 costs.
