A COMPUTER company hopes a new environmental scheme will take root.

Cartridge World, which has a store in John William Street, Huddersfield, wants customers to "refill not landfill".

And it is hoping the scheme will help plant 6,000 trees nationwide.

The store has launched a loyalty card scheme. Customers get a stamp every time they refill cartridges and toners at the store.

A tree will be planted for every eight stamps on the card.

More than 47m empty cartridges are thrown into landfill sites every year.
