STAFF at a train company operating services through Huddersfield have been given a five-star seal of approval.

Assessors from the British Quality Foundation visited First TransPennine Express to ask employees how they feel about working for the company, the firm’s plans for success and its commitment to customer service.

The assessors were impressed by FTPE’s “innovation, its internal culture and its leadership, which has created a high performance organisation where pride and passion from staff were noted as key elements”. The company's commitment to its people was highlighted as a real strength and key contributor to its success.

Nick Donovan, FTPE managing director, said: “This is fantastic recognition and acknowledgement of the success that we have achieved.

“We carry more people than ever, on time, in a fleet of modern trains, through clean, refurbished stations.

“To be re-accredited with five stars is something to be very proud of and we will continue to strive for further excellence.”
