A TRAIN company running services through Huddersfield has been recognised for the safety of its station car parks.

First TransPennine Express, which manages 30 stations across the north of England, has seen all of its 19 car parks accredited as safe locations.

All of FTPE’s station car parks now carry the Park Mark badge for Safer Parking.

The badge is awarded by the British Parking Association to railway car parks that have been vetted by the British Transport Police and that have appropriate measures in place in order to create a safer environment for customers and their vehicles.

FTPE has invested thousands of pounds on its car parks ensuring they are well lit, cleared from overgrown vegetation and covered by state- of-the-art CCTV.

Car parks are also regularly patrolled and cleaned to further improve the safety of customers.

FTPE works with APCOA, the UK’s largest full service parking provider, to maintain it’s customer parking. The company has seen a 10% drop in crime at its car parks since 2010/11.
