POLICE have arrested five people after a spate of attacks in cars across Calderdale.
Approximately £2,000 worth of car badges were stolen during three weekends, with £5,000 worth of damage caused to the vehicles.
But now, after help from the public, police have arrested four youths and a woman and recovered 40 of the 70 stolen badges.
Local residents passed on details about possible suspects to Pc Lisa McDonald, who was joined by Pc Ashfaq Hussain, and they gathered information to arrest the youths – three aged 13 and one of 16.
All are on bail pending further inquiries on suspicion of theft from a motor vehicle.
A woman aged 41 received an adult caution for handling stolen goods.
