A TEAM of garage workers are revving up for a charity run.

Mohammed Asif Ali, director of Five Star Auto Centre at Paddock Foot, will be joined by two colleagues in the Lindley 10k on Sunday.

Mr Ali, 30, said sponsorship raised would go to community activities in Lindley.

He said: “This is a non-profit organisation which endeavours to promote and organise community events. Their aims are to organise social events within the local community, support projects for young people and promote community integration.

“I want people to donate as much as they can to provide support to the Lindley community group.”

Mr Ali said: “I’m not really a runner — in fact, I don’t do much exercise! We started training at the beginning of May and it’s going quite well.”

He will be joined by colleagues Matthew Hudson and Laura Cunnington.

Matthew, an apprentice vehicle technician , said: “I feel this is a great event for the local community and I am proud to be involved in it.”
