PREPARE for an early Last Night of the Proms at the fifth Royal Air Force Association concert in Almondbury
The association will host the concert in aid of their Wings Appeal Fund which supports service families.
The Sellers International Youth Band will play a mixed programme with a grand finale featuring the favourite proms songs such as Jerusalem and Land of Hope and Glory, as well as a bit of flag waving.
Sellers, an award-winning 36-strong brass band which has members aged between eight and 19, will be joined by Mixed Harmony – a comedy musical double act from Almondbury.
Organiser Richard Broadbent said: “This is our annual concert and we raise money for our war wounded.
“As you can imagine, there is a great need for support at the moment and we want to do what we can to help. It’s always a great show and we finish with a finale like Last Night of the Proms where everyone can get involved by waving their flags – it’s a wonderful event.”
It takes place on the evening of Saturday, May 8 at Almondbury Methodist Church.
Tickets are £6 and can be bought by calling Richard Broadbent on 01484 307 691 or on the door on the night of the show.
