DEVELOPERS have been given the go-ahead to turn a disused mill into flats.
The Clifton Mills building at Bradford Road, Bailiff Bridge, will be transformed into 70 flats. The former Firth's Carpets property is at the front of a site where new homes are being built.
Calderdale councillors approved the scheme at a meeting in Halifax.
Developers Cornelius Parish, of Hull, say they are willing to give £80,000 to improve public open space in the area, said a council report.
Three objectors to the mill conversion said there were already enough homes in Bailiff Bridge.
But the council report said: "The number of homes already built in the area is not, by itself, a reason for refusing permission."
