YOUNG children have been ticked off for flashing elderly residents in Flockton.

Residents of Pinfold Close were upset when a gang of youngsters aged about 11 began running up to windows and flashing their bottoms.

The eight-strong group also hounded residents with anti-social behaviour including shouting and banging on doors and windows.

Flockton parish councillor Jimmy Paxton said the problem had been sorted but said the young flashers had been exposing more than just their behinds.

He joked: “There was some young ‘uns causing a bit of bother.

“Some residents were laughing.

“Only two of them were exposing themselves but we had the police out and it’s quietened down thankfully.”

Clr Paxton said the parents had been spoken to and reminded their children were old enough to be prosecuted.

A police spokesman, said: “It might sound like harmless high jinks, but the residents are mainly elderly people, and this was causing them some distress.

“Please make sure you know where your children are in the evenings and try and make sure they aren't the ones up to no good upsetting elderly people.”
