A YOUNG man Tasered by police has appeared in court.

Paul Nicholls, 20, was shot with a 50,000 volt stun gun near his home on Parkside in Flockton after officers were called to reports of a disturbance on May 22.

Nicholls appeared in Huddersfield Magistrates’ Court charged with assaulting Pc Anwar.

He is also charged with resisting Pc King in the execution of his duties in a separate incident on May 31.

Nicholls pleaded not guilty on both counts yesterday.

He will appear in Huddersfield Magistrates’ Court on the assault charge on September 1 and the resistance charge on September 3.
