YOUNG environmental campaigners mowed the grass to let wild flowers flourish.

Members of Enviroyouth, a green group for 14 to 25-year-old volunteers, cut the grass and removed cuttings around fruit trees at Royds Hall Community Orchard off Luck Lane in Marsh on Saturday.

The idea was to let flowers grow following a planting project that was carried out two years ago by Kirklees Countryside Unit.

It was funded by the Big Lottery Fund.
