Thick fog has descended on Huddersfield — and produced some amazing scenes.

While the poor visibility has caused problems on our roads and caused havoc at airports, it's also made for some fantastic pictures, with a flurry uploaded to Instagram this morning.

Today's weather is a sharp contrast from yesterday's autumn sunshine — the warmest November day on record in Huddersfield with temperatures of 19.5° C.

We've round up some stunning Instagram snaps of foggy Huddersfield taken this morning — from rolling mist over high hills to swirls of fog clouding the town centre.

And if you are heading out into the fog today, take care — motorists have been advised to take care on the roads amid the thick fog.

Highways England urged people to allow extra time. The agency said on its website: “Road users will need plenty of extra time to do their usual commute, especially as the fog is expected to lift very slowly during the morning.”
