FOOD Glorious Food viewers were treated to a televisual feast with a cracking curry from Huddersfield - and we've got the recipe.

Oakes teacher Rahila Hussain was tonight revealed as the winner of Simon Cowell’s Food Glorious Food TV contest.

And her prize, which also includes £20,000 for the winner, will see her chicken dish recreated for hundreds of Marks & Spencer stores all over the UK.

The meal will be on sale in the M&S shops under the banner Rahila’s Fragrant White Chicken Korma.

"I am absolutely delighted" beamed Rahila, who won the televised final tonight in front of millions of viewers.

She had entered the competition, which ran for several weeks, after learning to cook alongside her mum Naziran in the kitchen of their Huddersfield home.

"When you watch cookery programmes on the television, you want to eat the dishes they create and that’s just what is going to happen now.

"My chicken korma is going to be sold in shops all over the country, and that’s amazing".

Rahila, 44, never had any formal cookery training, but learned skills of Pakistani cuisine from her mum, firstly in Thornton Lodge and then in Edgerton.

She has been teaching for 10 years, mainly business and law, but has also given cookery lessons to a group of adult education students.

"I was so nervous the first time I did that.

"I’m fine in front of 30 teenagers at school, but all the adults were so quiet and so serious. But when I’d finished the lesson they all applauded.

"Now I think I want to concentrate on producing my own recipe book.

"Watching my mum over all those years meant I learned a lot of different dishes, even though she never wrote anything down.

"I travelled to Pakistan several times and I wrote down recipes for lots of different dishes and now I’d love to put them all together in a book for others to share."
