Former Huddersfield Town striker John McAliskey is to pass on his skills to a new generation.
He has teamed up with others to set up the GF Football Academy.
McAliskey is working with Golcar United coach Tom Senior along with current Town scout and highly-qualified coach Luke Haigh on the scheme.
John said: “I’ve been lucky enough to play professional football and I know how important good coaching is.
“I’m really looking forward to passing on what I’ve learned about the game to the next generation of young footballers.”
They will hold their first courses at Golcar United’s Longfield Avenue ground. Sessions for seven to nine-year-olds are on July 27 and 28, while those for 10 to 12-year-olds are on August 18 and 19.
The sessions start at 9.30am each day and cost £25 for the two-day course which includes a certificate and T-shirt.
Tom said: “Your child will develop many new skills and techniques whilst meeting new friends and doing something they love.”
