FOOTBALL shirts, school ties, flowers and photographs are among the growing array of tributes to a teenager who died suddenly.

Huw Thatcher, 15, suffered a brain aneurysm as he played for Hepworth United Juniors in a game against Brighouse Town Juniors on Sunday March 13.

A collection of flowers and mementoes in tribute to the Holmfirth High School pupil quickly grew at the Sands recreation ground in Holmfirth.

Now Holmfirth Picturedrome has become the focus for friends and family wanting to pay their respects.

It has opened its doors for people to leave their memories of Huw ahead of his funeral tomorrow.

Among the items left there is a shirt carrying the simple message: “Huw, RIP, legend in the making.”

The Picturedrome will be open again this afternoon for anyone wanting to leave a tribute.

Huw’s funeral at Holmfirth Parish Church, at 1.30pm tomorrow, is being planned as a celebration of his life.
