FUNDRAISERS at Dalton's Kirkwood Hospice are to hold their first football tournament.

The hospice is joining the football fever of Euro 2004 by holding two events on Sunday, June 13.

And teams are needed for its six-a-side tournament.

Hospice events co-ordinator Joanne Gledhill said: "Your team could be the winners of our first-ever tournament shield!" The event will be at Leeds Road Playing Fields in Huddersfield. Kick- off is 10am.

Each team will play at least three games, while raising cash for the hospice.

Football fever will continue into the afternoon, as the hospice prepares to support England.

The England v France match will be shown live on a big screen in the main banqueting suite at the McAlpine Stadium. Pre-match entertainment will be by former Town and England player Steve Kindon.

A three-course dinner will be served before kick-off at 7.45pm.

The dress code will be "Come on England" and soccer shirts are encouraged. Tickets cost £19.95.

Interface Fabrics, Mirfield, is sponsoring both events.
