A TEXTILES worker died after being exposed to asbestos, an inquest heard.

Brian Haigh, 78, had not worked with the lethal fibre but the pipes above him where he worked had been lagged in the substance. He was admitted to Kirkwood Hospice and he died on November 2. An inquest at Huddersfield Coroner’s Court heard the former foreman finisher, of Marlbeck Close, Honley, had malignant mesothelioma. Coroner Roger Whittaker recorded that his death was caused by an industrial disease.
