FUNDRAISERS are preparing to stride out to raise money for a children’s hospice and respite centre.

A team from the West Yorkshire Forget Me Not Trust will be putting on their walking boots on June 7 to take part in the Wadsworth Parish Boundary Walk, organised by Hebden Bridge Rotary Club.

The Trust – which is aiming to build a Hospice for terminally ill children – will be the main charity to benefit from the event.

The walk has been divided into different sections for all fitness abilities from four to 21 miles.

There are checkpoints around the route so anyone can drop out and be taken to the finish line.

The route will take walkers through some of the finest natural moorland in the country including Luddenden Dene, Hardcastle Crags and Blakedean.

It is a chance for people to take part in an organised walk and experience the stunning countryside that surrounds Hebden Bridge.

The rotary club has prepared a guide book about the area covered by the walk which is now on sale from the Trust office, and at their charity shops in Lindley and Brighouse.
