A new take-away has been given the go-ahead for Fartown and will create three new jobs.
The premises will be opened at 2-4 Bradford Road and replace the former car parts shop - Universal Motor Spares.
Plans were submitted to Kirklees Council back in October and were granted permission just before Christmas.
Highways officer Steve Sampson said although the proposed new premises would generate traffic in its own right, coupled with the fact that there are other similar uses within the parade, it would be difficult to substantiate a highway reason for refusal.
