FORMER Colne Valley candidate Debbie Abrahams has taken her seat in the House of Commons.

Labour’s new Oldham East and Saddleworth MP was welcomed by cheering colleagues in Parliament yesterday – five days after she won the by-election.

Mrs Abrahams finished third for Labour in Colne Valley at last year’s general election.
