A FORMER Huddersfield journalist, Gary Cannadine, has died suddenly.

Mr Cannadine collapsed on his way to work at the Telegraph and Argus in Bradford on Monday.

He was 45 and is thought to have suffered a heart attack.

Mr Cannadine, who lived in Sheffield, had worked as a sub-editor for the Bradford newspaper since 1999, having spent the previous 11 years working for Sheffield Newspapers.

He worked at the Examiner from 1978 to 1988 as a reporter and features writer. For six of those years he also covered the local rock and pop scene for the Examiner.

Mr Cannadine was educated at High Storrs School and Richmond College, Sheffield. He was a single man.
