JOKER Jake Mangel Wurzel has been at work again in Huddersfield town centre.

For Yorkshire Day, he treated Harold Wilson to a smoke!

The former Prime Minister, whose statue is in St George's Square, was well-known for puffing on a pipe.

But the bronze likeness doesn't have one.

So Jake, of Lindley Moor, strapped a pipe in carved wood and gold-painted plastic to the statue's head with elastic before lighting it.

For good measure, he put a White Rose flag in the former PM's hand.

The stunt raised a smile among passers-by before Jake responsibly took his additions to the statue down.

He said: "Harold Wilson always had a pipe. I thought I'd give him a treat seeing as it was Yorkshire Day."
