OLD school pals have held a 50th reunion.

About 30 former pupils of Mount Pleasant Secondary School in Lockwood gathered at Broad Oak Bowling Club in Linthwaite.

Tony Whitehead helped organise last Friday’s get-together of people who left the school in 1958.

He said: “Most of the people at the reunion live in the Huddersfield area but one woman came from Benidorm, which was a turn-up for the books.”

The old school-friends were welcomed to the reunion by Ralph Hirst. They had a buffet dinner and looked at old copies of a school magazine which included poems written by some of those at the reunion.
