A man has appeared in court accused of dealing thousands of pounds worth of drugs.

John Walker, 26, is alleged to have had class B drug MCAT and class C drug GHB with intent to supply them on May 4.

He denied the charges when he appeared at Kirklees Magistrates’ Court yesterday.

Prosecutor Robert Campbell said that the amount of GHB found totalled more than £4,000.

He added police seized a mobile phone belonging to Walker, formerly of Scissett, and it indicated the sale of drugs.

District Judge Andrew Pascoe committed Walker, of Ridge Hall Lane in Leyland, Lancashire, to Leeds Crown Court for trial.

Walker will first appear there on October 10 and was granted unconditional bail.
