YORKSHIRE Forward has launched a high-visibility marketing campaign to help people to understand its strategic role as the regional development agency.

It also wants as many individuals and organisations as possible to help it produce its Regional Economic Strategy.

The marketing campaign consists of a series of images of places throughout Yorkshire which are undergoing major transformation as a direct result of Yorkshire Forward's interventions.

It focuses on the Regional Develop- ment Agency's ability to see the big picture.

More than 70 poster sites on key commuter routes in and around the region's main towns and cities will carry the images.

The launch comes at a crucial time for Yorkshire Forward as it leads a review of the Regional Economic Strategy, the 10-year blueprint to improve the region's economy due to be delivered to Government in the autumn.

It also comes after a survey of 1,000 regional stakeholders and businesses last year found that while 58% were aware of the agency's role only 3% thought Yorkshire Forward had publicised its role well.

It is hoped that the campaign will bring a dramatic improvement in this area.
