MORE than £7,500-worth of suspected skunk cannabis and a stolen motorcycle worth more than £2,500 have been seized in Crosland Moor.
Kirklees’ specialist drugs team searched a property on Yew Green Avenue yesterday as part of Operation Quartz.
Two boys aged 14 and 17 and two men of 22 and 24 were arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply class B drugs and theft.
They have all been bailed pending further enquiries.
Sgt Ian Thornes, from the drugs team, said: “We are turning intelligence into search warrants and subsequently entering and searching properties in under an hour.
“This rapid response is paying huge dividends.
“In its first six weeks of operation the new team has executed 41 search warrants and arrested 43 individuals.
“This has resulted in the recovery of more than £108,000 of controlled drugs, five firearms and over £7,500 in cash.
“We need the public of Kirklees to continue to provide us with intelligence. We will continue to act on the information received in a speedy fashion.”
Operation Quartz was set up at the start of the year to tackle drug and gun crime.
