FOUR men have been arrested by detectives investigating a killing in Clayton West.

All four were being held last night on suspicion of conspiracy to murder in connection with the shooting investigation.

The body of Christopher Hartley, 45, was found on Litherop Lane in High Hoyland, near Clayton West, on Tuesday, September 8.

At 8am yesterday morning police made a series of arrests in connection with the ongoing hunt.

They took a 35-year-old Tingley man, a 44-year-old Wakefield man, a 41-year-old Morley man and a 51-year-old Leeds man in for questioning.

All are currently being interviewed at police stations throughout West Yorkshire.

The arrests come almost a month after the body of Mr Hartley, of Tingley, was discovered in the rural location on Litherop Lane.

He was found with gunshot wounds and police believe he was gunned down on the leafy lane at night time.

His body was discovered on the roadside near to his Jaguar XJ Sovereign.

The arrests come one month after police discovered Mr Hartley’s body.

The 45-year-old had lived a quiet, solitary life at his luxury detached house in Tingley.

From there he is thought to have run a sex holiday business called Eastern Delights.

A spokesman for West Yorkshire Police confirmed that the four men were arrested early yesterday morning, adding that questioning could continue throughout today.
