POLICE investigating the slaughter of animals at allotments in Kirklees have arrested four youths.
Ten baby rabbits along with hens, ducks and geese, were hacked to death with spades and other garden tools or strangled at Westfield Road allotments in Heckmondwike.
The attack took place just before Christmas.
Some animals survived but had to be put down later because of the severity of their injuries.
Three of the youths - two aged 14 and a 15-year-old - were released on police bail pending further inquiries.
A 16-year-old was released after questioning.
