A DRIVER was badly hurt when he swerved to miss a fox and crashed into a wall early today.
The man, who is in his 30s, was driving along Rowley Lane in Lepton when he swerved to miss the animal at 12.39am.
His Citroen Xsara crashed through a garden wall, showering parked cars with mud and dirt.
The man was then trapped in his car.
Fire crews and ambulance crews went to the scene.
Firefighters used hydraulic rams to push back the car's dashboard.
They then cut the roof off the vehicle to free the stricken driver.
He was placed on a spineboard and then rushed to Huddersfield Royal Infirmary, suffering from serious injuries.
