SHOPPERS in Huddersfield town centre faced a mixture of good and bad news because of the council workers’ strike.
Queensgate Market Hall was closed – but parking at the multi-storey next door was free.
Many shoppers were unaware the Kirklees-owned market was shut until they arrived at the locked doors.
Jessie Kaye, of Dewsbury, was one of many people left disappointed yesterday.
She said: “I didn’t know the market was closed so I’m a bit annoyed because I came all this way.”
