FIREFIGHTERS spent nearly three hours tackling a blaze at an empty building.
The building, believed to have been derelict, was totally destroyed at Burrwood, off Stainland Road in Holywell Green.
It is unclear what type of building it was, but some local residents said it was an old golf house.
Crews from Halifax and Elland attended shortly after 11.30pm yesterday and were later supported by crews from Huddersfield and Brighouse.
They were there until about 2.30am today.
