A WOMAN has appeared in court charged with the murder of a great-grandmother.
Amra Hartley, 40, of no fixed abode, has been charged with the murder of Margaret Hartley, 77, of Cross Keys Court in Horbury, Wakefield.
Wakefield Magistrates' Court heard the offence took place on May 15.
The defendant was found with stab wounds and arrested outside Body Image tattoo shop on Chapel Hill in Huddersfield the same day amd later detained under the Mental Health Act.
Speaking through an interpreter Hartley, who kept her head bowed throughout the short hearing, spoke only to confirm her name, date of birth and that she had no address.
Magistrates remanded her in custody and she is expected to appear at Leeds Crown Court next Friday.
