THE second man to have been charged over an alleged murder plot appeared in a Huddersfield court.
Simon Keith Mullin, 39, is charged with conspiracy to murder 45-year-old car dealer Christopher Hartley.
Wearing a black, hooded top and jeans, Mullin, of Farding Square in South Shields, Tyneside, spoke only to confirm his name and address during the five-minute hearing at Huddersfield Magistrates' Court.
He was told that he was charged with conspiring with David Large, and possibly other unknown individuals, to murder Mr Hartley between January 1 and September 9 this year.
Large, 35, has already appeared in court twice on an identical charge.
Mullin's solicitor made no application for bail and he was remanded in custody to appear via video link at Bradford Crown Court on October 26.
Mr Hartley, of Hill Top in Tingley, was found shot dead on Litherop Lane in High Hoyland, near Clayton West, on the evening of September 8.
A 21-year-old man, who was also arrested in South Shields, continues to be questioned in connection with the incident.
Three other men, aged 41,44 and 51, are on bail pending further enquiries
