ARMY bomb squad experts have blown up a WWII grenade which had been discovered in Golcar.

The grenade, which was believed to have been found in the cellar of an empty house, was blown up by the ordnance team.

Police had thrown a 300-ft cordon around the device in Leymoor Road.
