THE Oddfellows mutual help organisation is putting on a free supper so that people can find out how it works.
The Huddersfield District of the Oddfellows is hosting the informal supper at The Keys Restaurant on Byram Street on Thursday, September 4.
The Oddfellows is a friendly society with 90,000 members across the country, many of whom are in the Huddersfield area.
The group is already an established part of the community and organises a variety of events and social activities, including lunches, weekend breaks and day trips.
They also provide a dedicated citizens’ advice phone line, care information and financial welfare support such as help with legal aid and funeral costs.
Lynn Bradbury, secretary for the society’s Brighouse branch, said: “Our events provide a great opportunity to meet people with similar interests and this event is one example of what we offer.
“Everyone is welcome at the buffet supper. Feel free to come on your own, with your husband, your wife or a friend. We’re looking forward to welcoming lots of new faces.”
An earlier ‘get to know us’ session will be held on Wednesday, September 3 at the Oddfellows Hall on Bradford Road in Brighouse.
