A MEETING is being staged for people concerned about the future of Kirklees museums

The next stage of planning is underway for a Friends group for the Red House Museum, in Gomersal.

The volunteer group, which will be supported by Kirklees Council, aims to actively back the museum’s development.

Those interested are invited to attend a meeting at the museum on Saturday, September 1.

The aim of the event, which begins at 2pm is to appoint committee members, adopt a constitution and formally create a Friends group.

Afternoon tea and cake will follow.

Around 40 people attended the first meeting to discuss the history of the site and the friends group.
