THE Lib Dems have lost a string of seats around Huddersfield as voters turned against the party in this year's Kirklees Council elections.
Labour took Dalton, Golcar and Dewsbury West from the Lib Dems, who also lost Colne Valley and Lindley to the Conservatives.
In Holme Valley North independent Ed Holroyd-Doveton unseated Lib Dem David Woodhead.
The Lib Dems held on in Almondbury and Cleckheaton, but have slipped from second to third place on Kirklees.
Labour held all seven seats it was defending while the Tories kept their six.
The Greens kept both the seats they were defending - with Clr Derek Hardcastle clinging on by 82 votes in Kirkburton.
See our liveblog below to see how it happened or go to Page 2 for our breakdown of each ward.
